Getting help

Email support@blackdragonlab.com and you will get a reply from a person. The answers below cover what comes up most.

Plate counts are individual plates, not pairs

If you own four 20 kg plates, enter 4. The app works out that this is two per side. A plate without a partner cannot be loaded, so five plates and four plates give the same result — the app will say so rather than quietly ignore the odd one.

Why can't it hit my exact number?

Most target weights cannot be built from real plates, especially in a gym with a kilogram bar and pound plates. The app shows the nearest load below and the nearest above, with how far each one misses by, and you tap whichever you want. It also suggests which plates would close the gap, and can add them to your inventory if you buy them.

Mixed kilogram and pound plates

Set your gym to Mixed and enter both. The app treats every weight as the same underlying quantity, so a 20 kg bumper and a 45 lb plate can sit on the same bar and the total is still right. Switching the display between kg and lb converts nothing — it only changes how the number is written.

My gym has a plate that isn't on the list

Open your inventory and use Add a custom plate. Any weight, either unit. Custom bars work the same way under Add a custom bar — useful for a trap bar, a technique bar, or anything that is not a standard Olympic bar.

Building a bar by hand

Tap a plate at the bottom of the screen to add one to each side, or drag it onto the bar. Use the minus button to take one off, and Clear bar to strip it back. Touching the target weight hands control back to the app.

Does it work without a signal?

Always. The app has no network features at all, so a basement gym with no reception makes no difference to it. See the privacy policy for what that means for your data.

Something is wrong

Email support@blackdragonlab.com with your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you expected to happen. A screenshot helps more than anything else — especially of the bar and the weight it reported.
